Who we are

Hello! My name is Jo Davidson (BA Hons degree in teaching), and I am the director of Dragonfly Academic Support and Well -Being (Dragonfly Educational Support (South Coast). We work within the Disabled Student Allowance (DSA), but also privately supporting people where they need a helping hand. I am a qualified teacher with QTLS, and I have a big passion for helping people who may be struggling through their studies or in general life due to their disabilities. I am currently studying a counselling course, in order to provide another type of support. I have been working in this industry since 2010 and thoroughly enjoy giving support to those in need. Dragonfly is disabled led and we understand what it is like to struggle with disabilities and diagnoses, we are able to use our own experiences and making sure we support people as best as we can.  

 

Here at Dragonfly, we provide face to face and remote support for study skills for SPLD and Autism, mentoring for Autism, mentoring for Asperger's syndrome and Mental Health difficulties, plus assistive technology training. Our support is available throughout the South Coast of England and Remote Training through a program called "Zoom." 

 

The support provided to the student is individualised, focusing on their specific learning needs. Our sessions are structured to help support the students.

 

Our trainers and tutors have Enhanced DBS (CRB) checks, we have a lone worker policy, health and safety procedures, relevant insurances and are registered with the Data Protection Act in place.
